TenneT TSO GmbH - We bring energy
With around 900 employees, TenneT TSO GmbH, which is based in Bayreuth, is responsible for the operation, maintenance and further development of the electricity transmission network with voltage levels of 220 kV and 380 kV in large sections of Germany. We stand for fair and reliable access to the maximum voltage network for all market participants. TenneT TSO GmbH is the subsidiary the Dutch grid operator TenneT B.V.
With around 10,700 kilometres of maximum voltage lines, our company is
responsible for efficient electricity transport over large distances. The
network ranges from the border of Denmark up to the Alps, and at 140,000 square
kilometres, it covers around 40 percent of the surface area of Germany. More
than 20 million people can rely on a reliable power supply from TenneT either
directly or indirectly through distributing energy suppliers in our grid area.
In addition, our lines are part of the European connectivity grid. This means
greater supply reliability, because together with our national and international
network partners, we can respond optimally to failures of power plants or to
system malfunctions.
